An Important Update About Our Raw Milk Pricing
From Derrick & Jessica - September 1, 2026
We have an important update to share with you about the price of our raw milk.
Beginning October 1, 2026, our raw milk will be $10 per gallon or $6.50 per half gallon.
We know that price increases are never easy. We also know that for some of our customers, an additional few dollars on a gallon of milk can create a real strain on the household budget. We don't take that lightly, and honestly, we really did not want to raise our prices.
But after four months of owning and operating the farm, we've spent a lot of time looking closely at what it actually costs to keep this dairy running—and we've come to the conclusion that this increase is necessary for the long-term financial sustainability of the farm.
We've heard many of you tell us from the very beginning that we needed to raise the price, but we wanted to give ourselves time to understand the operation, the costs, and what it would take to build the kind of farm we envision for the future.
Why are we raising the price?
The answer is pretty simple: we want Mine Creek Farmstead to be here for the long haul.
We want to build a sustainable dairy that can continue providing fresh, local milk to our community for years to come. That means growing our herd, improving our infrastructure, maintaining and replacing equipment, and continuing to invest in the farm so that we can produce more milk and keep it available consistently.
One of our biggest challenges right now is simply having enough milk.
We don't like regularly having to tell you that we've sold out. We want to have enough milk to keep our coolers stocked and, eventually, enough production to make more of the dairy products you've been asking us for.
And yes—cheese curds are absolutely on that list. 😉
We're working toward bringing more products to the farm store, including:
🥛 Fresh cream
🧀 Cheese and cheese curds
🧈 Butter
And more!
We know $10 can sound like a lot.
We also want to be transparent that even at $10 per gallon, Mine Creek Farmstead remains one of the lower-cost options for fresh raw milk in our area.
We have worked hard to keep the increase as reasonable as we can while still making sure the numbers work for the farm. We are grateful for every person who has chosen to buy milk from us—whether you've been here for years or just discovered us last week. We don't take your support for granted.
This decision isn't about making the farm more expensive for the sake of making more money. It's about making sure there is a farm here to buy milk from.
We believe in what we're building at Mine Creek Farmstead. We believe in keeping raw milk available to our community year-round, caring for our cows, producing good food, and building a farm that can continue to grow and serve this community for generations.
Thank you for understanding, for supporting us, and for continuing to come back to the farm.
We're incredibly grateful to have you with us.
